# Newsreel

> Newsreel is a news platform (web and app) where every story is written by a credentialed journalist or vetted expert. Delivered in short, interactive formats (daily briefings, stories, quizzes, and polls), it is rebuilding the digital town square: a trusted home for real reporters and the readers who follow them in the AI age. Operated by Newsreel Media Corp and founded by Jack Brewster.

## What Newsreel is
- A news platform on the web and as an app, where every contributor is a credentialed journalist or verified creator. No anonymous accounts, no AI content farms.
- Ad-free and nonpartisan. Readers follow the journalists and creators they trust, in the order they publish. No engagement-bait algorithm.
- Interactive by design: quizzes and opinion polls are built into stories. Perspectives clusters the arguments and coverage on a contested story so readers compare how different outlets and sides report it, a form of lateral reading used to verify news.
- Named the 2025 Resource of the Year by the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE).
