How Perspectives works
517 public voices, seven platforms, twice a day. For each story: who took a position, what they said, and the link.
What we collect
Public posts from 517 voices: politicians, journalists, commentators, creators, economists, lawyers, doctors, think tanks. Nothing behind a login. Every position links to the original.
Post to position
A labeling model answers fixed questions about each post: public concern or not, the author's own view or not, which of 40 topics, and whether the stance is strong or lean, each with a confidence score. Promotional, neutral and off-topic posts are dropped. A second model writes the one-line summary; the quote is the author's own words.
Position to story cluster
For each story, a model sorts the voices into positions, each named as the claim its members make, in words they would use. Every voice is then checked: is this post about this story? A story is published only as a cluster: six or more voices, most sharing a position with someone else.

No left and right on stories
Voices are grouped by what they said on each story, not by who they are. The same senator lands in different positions on different days. Both are accurate; neither is permanent.
Nothing is filtered by its words
No word list decides what you see. A voice or a post is removed only by an editorial decision with a reason on record. Corrections: jack@newsreel.co.
What this is not
- Not a fact-checker. What people said, not whether it is true.
- Not a bias rater. We group arguments, not people.
- Not complete. The site shows 45 days. The labeling casts wide on purpose.
Voice labels
Each voice has a category, a one-line lens for the angle they argue from, and tags from a fixed list; a word not on the list is not a tag. Politicians carry their party from Wikidata, never inferred. Tags are shorthand, not verdicts: a "national security" voice can be the loudest critic of a specific war.

What we do not do: We do not label voices by race, religion, gender, or demographic identity. A voice's background may inform their perspective, but it is not a tag.
